Trigger Warning: blades, mild torture, injuries, and what amounts to suicidal thoughts and actions (he lives at the end but he does need a hell of a lot of therapy)
Tim shudders, as best he can while bleeding and bruised and broken.
The Red Hood is above him, mechanical voice melding into the raspy deeper tones of an Older Jason Todd. His voice is hollow and cruel as he digs his blade into Tim’s flesh. It hurts. But, Tim thinks dazedly, having Robin, Tim’s Robin, hating Tim hurts worse.
“Wow, Replacement, no last words for the person you stole everything away from?”
Jason’s mocking him.
“Okay.”
“What’s that, Replacement?”
Tim is so incredibly tired. And the blade held to his neck is starting to look like comfort. Tim thinks-
“My last words. You- You want to hear it?”
His hero’s face tilts, green eyes sparking something deep within Tim’s memory. But he’s so tired.
“Sure, let’s see what kind of recruitment pitch you’ve got for me, Replacement.”
Cruel. So cruel. Mocking him with false warmth. But false warmth is better than the coldness of Drake manor, the coldness of Bruce’s grieving form or Dick’s smile, sometimes when he thinks Tim’s not looking.
Ah, Tim knew it. His Robin will always be better than any other heroes, even if the false warmth makes his heart hurt worse than the broken ribs he’s now sporting. That Hood is pressing a knee down on to keep him immobile. Not that Tim could move anywhere considering both of his legs are broken. Tim wonders what it is about him that makes it impossible for people to muster up warmth towards.
“Do you know why… why heroes are so… so loved?” He wheezes out. He doesn’t wait for a response from Hood. “It’s because… they choose good- they choose to better the world- to save people, even if… even if they weren’t saved themselves. No matter how much- the obstacles, there’s always, an obstacle. But they try anyways.” Tim has to wrap this up. He’s losing coherency. “It’s why… it’s why this is okay. You… you’re choosing to save… to save Gotham from the Joker. Ev’n if you weren’t saved yourself. You’re not… good. You kill.”
Red Hood- Jason, snarls. Tim, blinking slowly, admires the man’s green eyes. “That’s fucking right-”
“But, you can be. Y’re helping.” And because this is important, because Tim has an alter set up to mourn Jason, “You were my hero,” Tim says, and Jason stops short, expression blanking. “So. I’ll help- help remove an obstacle so… so you can keep helping. Helping people like… like me. Or, not like me. Something.”
With that, Tim summons the rest of his strength and presses his neck towards the blade, starting the process to slit his own throat.
Jason flings the knife away, expression crumbling in horror as he stares down at the child he just tortured.
And as Tim’s voice fades, as blood spills out of his neck, as Tim gives him time to retrieve the knife, Jason breaks.
Oh, Tim thinks. His eyes weren’t green. They’re supposed to be blue.
——
Jason sits beside the medical cot, the steady beeping of the heart monitor grounding him as he held two fingers on the kid’s- oh god, he’s a fucking kid, Todd, you monster- pulse.
Jason will grovel when Tim wakes up. Because he turned into the kid’s Joker and Willis and if there’s anything Jason won’t ever allow himself to turn into, it’d be those two. He crossed a line. If Tim wants him to rip his liver out and present it to him, Jason thinks he’d do it on the spot.
Fuck. He fucked up.

Gotham has always been weird, so when the groundskeeper at the cemetery noticed the Wayne kid’s plot was disturbed, he just chalked it up to more of the same ol’. Alright, so ‘disturbed’ may be a tad too light of a word, but what’s an empty grave in the grand scheme of Gotham? God knows in a city like this one, they could use all the burial room they could get. He figured he’d just jot it down on the website and hope nobody noticed for a while.
Too bad he didn’t account for the 13 year old boy in Bristol who periodically checks the cemetery’s website when he’s feeling particularly lonely.
Plot Removed.
Tim Drake stared at the two words under the heading for Jason Todd’s plot number. Removed? What do they mean ‘removed’? They can’t just remove a plot? That’s a person down there! That’s Robin down there! You can’t Remove Robin!
Calm down. Deep breaths. Assess the situation.
Robin has been dead for 5 months and 14 days. There is no reason for a grave to be removed that early, especially one of a member of such an affluential family. Chances are likely it’s a simple clerical issue. He can call first thing in the morning and make them aware of the mistake. He can have it all fixed in 5 hours.
Just a phone call.
In 5 hours.
Tim hates talking on the phone almost as much as he hates waiting.
Well it won’t be the first time he’s snuck out to head to Gotham proper at 1am. It can’t even really be considered sneaking out if there’s no one home to catch you.
Buses stop running at 2, so he layers a couple sweaters under his coat and grabs his best running sneakers so he can comfortably make the trek back.
Just a quick trip to settle his nerves. Maybe get a few shots in if he spots Batman, but really he just wants to see with his own two eyes that things are okay and Jason can rest.
It’s 1:37 by the time he gets to the headstone reading ‘Here Lies Jason Todd’ and the gaping, muddy pit in front of it.
This- This doesn’t make any sense. This is not removal. This is destruction. Desecration. Somebody did this. Somebody-
Assess the situation.
A hole in the ground, approximately 1.5 feet in diameter.
Mud and grass flung outward but with little force.
Large chunks of earth turned over and shoved away.
No signs of tool marks or clean lines of entry into the dirt.
Dragging claw marks.
Staggering, shuffled pairs of foot prints in the mud.
A trail of dirt.
Something… Something large clawed its way out of the ground here. Something large and bipedal and- and humanoid.
Tim refuses to jump to any conclusions he can see all the facts laid in front of him. He’s going to cautiously follow the trail and simply hope to any god listening that he isn’t the world’s first line of defense against the zombie apocalypse.
He’s been walking for 23 minutes and there’s good news and undecided news. Good news: he’s closing in on the target and the trail isn’t taking him out of the way so his trip home won’t be prolonged. Undecided news: The potential Zombie Robin is heading directly for Wayne Manor.
As zombie apocalypse news, this is very bad. From Tim’s collected observational evidence, his not-so-professional opinion is that Batman, faced with a horror movie level zombie of his dead son, would not respond well, and would likely not fight back.
In Batman and Robin news? Tim’s unsure. If Jason is simply back? What could that mean for them? Batman can have his Robin. He wouldn’t have to continue nearly killing others and himself every night in his grief. Jason could-
No. Stop. Do not jump to conclusions.
Hope only brings heartbreak.
What would Batman do? Get close and see if the target is a threat.
Target is male. Mid-teens. Dark hair. Pale skin. Leaning against surfaces as he walks. Appears injured and disoriented.
Minimal risk assessed. Approaching and attempting contact.
Target identity confirmed: Jason Todd.
“J-Jason?” It comes out as a croaked whisper. Jason shows no sign of acknowledgment.
Tim clears his throat, steps right in front of his path, and tries again.
“Jason. Jason, stop I want to help you.” Still nothing.
“Please, Jason. I can help, I promise I can help!”
Why isn’t this working?! Why can’t he just do something right for once?! He wants this to work, he wants to help Bruce, he wants to fix Batman, he wants to not be alone, he wants-
“Robin!”
Robin jerks to a stop.
Tim reached out his hand.
“Robin. Robin please, I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s really scary, I’m really scared. But I just want to help you. Help you find Batman. Help you get home.”
Jason just stares at him. Of course he does. Of course it’s not going to work. Why did he even bother hoping he could help?
Hope only brings heartbreak.
His sight blurs as his eyes fill with tears and he starts to lower his outstretched hand.
His arm is slowed as a cold hand weakly grasps his own.
“Don’t… scared… Bat… help… Dad… help.”
A relieved sob tears out from Tim’s chest and he gathers himself together. He yanks his extra sweater off and gently pulls it over Jason’s cold shoulders. Jason lets Tim drag his arm over his shoulders to try and carry some of his weight.
“Okay, Robin. Yeah. Your dad will help us.”
Batman will solve everything once Tim gets Robin home.

Tim with hannaki disease
spending his childhood choking on flowers
Barely able to breathe rejection after rejection
Jason is attacking him at the tower and he can’t stop coughing out flowers
when dick gives Damian Robin, Tim leaves the cave spitting out petals
imagine if he died of suffocation during the Bruce quest
Fuck. I love hanahaki disease.
Tw: death, blood, asphyxiation, fictional disease, dead body description, gore
For those of y'all unaware, it's a completely fictional disease where having unrequited love results in the person growing flowers in their chest. It's usually romantic, but I prefer the platonic versons (especially child-parent angst, holy fuck).
I've seen two types of hanahaki:
The love is actually unrequited
The person only perceives the love as being unrequited
Either way, the progression is as follows:
Person coughs up one petal
They start coughing up more and usually blood
They cough up an entire blossom
They die trying to cough up the entire flower (blossom and stem)
There are four outcomes to hanahaki disease, depending on what rules you are working with:
Love becomes requited
Person dies
They have a surgery to remove their ability to have feelings
They lose (voluntarily or not) their memories about their unrequited love
Some people play with flower meanings of the petals being coughed up. I fucking love those versions so much.
Let's get into the AU! The timeline is mine to fuck around with, so excuse any non-canon progressions.
~~~~
Tim has chronic hanahaki disease from his parents. They visit often enough to quell the worst symptoms and mitigate the damage, but they don't stick around enough (or show enough constant attention) for the petals to go away.
Janet once asked Tim if he'd like to get the surgery. Tim said no. Janet respected that choice and never asked again even though Tim was like nine at the time. It also becomes a fear of his. He wakes up in cold sweat at the phantom idea of just not being able to love anyone. It terrifies him, even if the feeling of asphyxiation is the only other option.
When Janet dies and Tim becomes Robin, he does his best to hide his condition from Bruce. It worsens, from the way Tim adores and loves the Bats, but Tim manages.
It's a rough few years, but slowly, the ice begins to melt. The Waynes show Tim more and more affection. YJ also shower him in so much care to the point that Tim has days of uninterrupted breathing.
It's a novel but welcome feeling.
Jack waking up from the coma complicates shit. His condition worsens again, but it's manageable.
Until Tim's sixteenth birthday.
The teen will never admit, but that test nearly fucking killed him. Bruce never finds out how close he was to killing his Robin, but Tim knows. He'll never forget how thorns scraped along his throat at the idea that he can't trust anyone. He'll never rid himself of the intimate knowledge of how blossoms taste in his mouth and the sickly sweet smell of blood mixed with flower petals.
Tim has to quit Robin, for his safety, health, and as a "fuck you" to Bruce, but realizes he can't keep in contact with Dick, Alfred, or Barbara without it. He can't contact his team.
He has to go back, so he does.
Tim's not sure if it's better or worse that Bruce didn't know about the hanahaki. If the man did, would he still have done the test? Due to him never showing remorse or guilt for his actions, the teen doesn't know.
The question pesters him even when his dad finds out about Robin.
It plagues him through Steph becoming Robin and dying.
It festers into his bones when, while wearing those same damn colors, he hears his father die.
That is one or many reasons "Uncle Eddie" was created.
Tim can't quite trust Bruce, but he finds himself still loving the father-like figure in his life. He finds himself forgiving him. He leans into the hair ruffles, shoulder pats, and gruff words of affection. He lets himself be loved.
Then, an undead asshole in a gleaming red bucket comes to kick Tim's ass. The teen can't help but laugh at the way his life bounces between breathing and dying at the drop of a hat.
He's just barely able to hide the flowers from both Red Hood and the Titans.
A little assassin appears, and each attack brings a petal.
Each new death hampers Tim's ability to breathe. Tim tries, but it's so fucking hard. How is he supposed to live without them?
With the ticklish scrape of petals, Tim doesn't think he's supposed to.
Bruce isn't dead. Tim knows, with every fiber of his being, that Bruce can't be dead. Tim won't survive if he is.
Even if Tim loses everything, even if these damn fucking flowers consume him, at least his death will have a purpose.
That's what he tells himself as he lies in a pool of blood beneath the stars. The sand at his back is soft in comparison to the stem piercing his throat and tongue. The sound of his choking is joined by the bubbling wheezing of Pru.
Ra's peers down at the body already set with rigor mortis. Tim's jaw is pried apart by a bouquet of yellow carnations dripping in blood.
The demon head hums at the sight, a dangerous gleam to his eyes. With the flick of a hand, two assassins grab the young detective's corpse. The other three bodies are taken as well.
Tim's eyes fling open as the teen gasps for air.
It's wrong. It's wrong. It's all wrong. He's empty.
He's surrounded in green.
Oh fuck.
For awhile, Tim just soaks in the soft expansion of his lungs. He marvels at their capability.
He can't remember a time when he's been able to breathe so easily. It's enchanting and allots the teen a giddy sort of relief.
Through the destruction of both the Spiders and the LoA, he finds himself taking small moments to just breathe. It's a simple joy he can't help but partake in.
Tim logically knows there's a price. His breaths cost him, though he doesn't know their price. He should be dead and buried within the flowers.
He is neither.
He is alive. He is free (from the petals. It takes him a little bit to become free of Ra's).
Tim brushes aside these valid and alarming concerns to focus on his goals: escape, take down Ra's, and derail whatever retaliation occurs.
So that's what Tim does. He ignores the insistent sense of wrongness and focuses on the task at hand. He coordinates his friends and family. He faces down Ra's. He gets kicked out of a window.
With a grim smile, his body goes lax and his eyes flutter shut
He's done.
When Tim springs up from unconsciousness, Steph's voice reassures him he's safe. She tells him he's in the batcave.
The tension to bleeds from his body as Damian mutters a demand. Tim's eyes dart from Robin to Batgirl to Batman (Dick) to Alfred.
That sinking feeling of wrongness returns.
Dick's eyes are trained on the teen as he asks Tim, "How did you know I'll be there to save you?"
It's obvious the man is worried. It's obvious he's so fucking glad he caught his younger brother.
The lie falls from Tim's lips as smooth as any truth, "You're my brother, Dick. You'll always be there for me."
Dick's face brightens with fond relief.
Tim watches. He observes the reactions of his older brother. He catalogs the effect of his words on the man he's admired and loved for thirteen years.
He notes all of this.
And he feels nothing.
Ghost Marriage Allows More Than One!
Tim wakes up in a hotel room in Vegas snuggled against a chest but he wasn't surprised.
He had been in the Sin City for a WE meeting and had brought Bernard along the trip since Tim's birthday was just shy a few days into it and well he wanted to spend time with his boyfriend since most of his family were off world (Dick, Jason, and Bruce all had important missions and they all apologized for missing out and Tim couldn't blame them he understood and he himself couldn't get out of the Vegas meetings no matter what he tried to do.) Or couldn't come to join him (Damian had school as did Duke and Alfred was taking care of them while the others were gone. Steph and Cass were out of country working with some important things with Babs and again he understood.) (Did it still sting yes but they all promised to make it up when they got back, Alfred even promised a coffee cake just for him)
So yeah, Vegas meeting trip turned somewhat birthday fun with his boyfriend. And since Bernard has always been good with encouraging Tim to try things it came to no surprise that during their stay he had managed to convince Tim to try drinking for the night.
Yes terrible influence Bernard was sometimes, but he did make a point. Tim was an adult now and sometimes it's okay to at least try adult dumb stuff, he didn't have to like it and could stop if he really didnt want to but he can at least say he tried it once. That it was okay for Tim to let go of his vigilante brain and just have fun in the one city that was made for it.
So try Tim did. Just for the night.
So yeah, Tim wasn't really surprised when he woke up the next morning, alcohol aftertaste on his breath, head pounding, nose scrunched up from the light of the sun peeking in from the curtains, and snuggling himself into a rather chilly chest...
Wait...
Chilly?
Tim opened his eyes when he realized that. Bernard never felt cold to Tim when they would snuggle, no he was always warm, like a warm heating blanket. It was why Tim loved snuggling him. Why was he-
Tim's eyes widened when he saw not blonde hair on the body in the bed with him but black hair. He almost flung himself off the bed from him startling awake and watched the one he had been snuggled next to mumble in his sleep and turn over.
Tim felt pure dread as he continued to stare, his stomach turning as his thoughts got bad, oh god..God... did he... oh no, no, no no. Oh where was Bernard- FUCK did he really-
Tim flinched when he heard a door open and snapped his eyes towards it. He felt his mouth go dry when he spotted his boyfriend coming out of what was the bathroom of the room and had just finished taking a shower from the sounds of left over dripping water and from the towel he was using to clean his hair.
Bernard stopped in his spot when he noticed Tim staring at him before he gave Tim a very uneasy chuckle, his eyes darting towards the sleeping body on the bed "H-Hey, good morning T. I see you... uhh seen our guest."
Tim felt ready to cry, to beg for forgiveness, but the only sound that came out was a strangled sound because of course he fucked up and ruined one of the best things that ever happened to him and-
But before he could spiral further into his anxiety and dread Bernard kept speaking.
"So ummm. Do you also remember meeting Danny at the bar, getting really tipsy, hanging out, having fun and then like going to a ghost bar with him so he could really drunk because he's like half ghost. And I mean like a legit ghost bar, like we saw Elvis and Marilyn Monroe there and they were like floating. Then we all got like super mega drunk and then... maybe kinda sorta got ghost married... because ghost marriage allows unlimited spouses cause you know, already dead doesn't matter and it's also almost permanent cause again the whole dead thing... Or did I hallucinate all that last night and we just brought in a random stranger to bed?" He asked his voice unsure as he looked between Tim and the stranger Danny in bed before lifting his hand up and showing Tim a glowing ring on it. "I'm pretty sure I didn't dream it up because I kinda woke up with this, and it refuses to come off."
Tim went silent for a moment, wide eyed as he stared back at Bernard before the pounding headache he had hit him harder than ever when the very memories of everything Bernard had said came flooding back to him. With a gasp Tim quickly looked st his own hand and sure enough on his finger was a matching glowing wedding band on it, his eyes snapped towards Danny... Danny Nightingale? Or was it Phantom? said his name was and spotted another matching one as well.
"B is going to kill us." Was the only thing Tim could muster up to say.
so I just finished the post about ic reader was in a coma(?) kind of thing, and it got me wondering what or how he would react when he wakes up and suddenly everyone is all affectionate with him and he trys to decline the actions but he can't do much cause it's been awhile since he'd last physically moved, or something like that.
Thoughs?
Oh and I love this series, please never die, live a long healthy life😄
Had another question just like this, so hopefully this satisfies both. Note: this will allude to character feelings in future chapters. Read at your own peril.
Tumblr media
Alfred enters your new room just like any other morning, blended breakfast in hand, when he sees you moving.
“Alfred,” you say when you notice him.
That’s enough for him to drop the trey and rush towards you, bringing you into a tight hug, afraid you’ll go back into that state if he lets go.
You’re stunned as the normally composed butler lets out soft weeping and begs for forgiveness.
He fills in the gaps in your knowledge, that the family had found you just after being shot and had you brought to the manor to receive treatment and that you’ve been in a vegetative state for over a month now, all of them taking care of you.
You’re shocked, of course. Both at surviving a gunshot to the head and the Waynes actually gave a damn about you.
When he says they felt so guilty at how they’d treated you, it made sense. They weren’t doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, but because they’d feel guilty if they didn’t.
You go to say as much when the door opens and Bruce walks in, who stops mid step upon seeing you now awake.
“Y/N,” he says in disbelief. “My baby boy.”
The sight of him pisses you off. You’ve lived in this place for years and it takes you almost dying for him to give you a second glance.
You go to stand up, eager to go back to your room and finally leave Gotham, not caring that you’d have to find a way to graduate, when Bruce and Alfred stop you.
“Where’re you going, baby? You need your rest!”
“My room,” you spit at him. “I’m getting my stuff and finally going home.”
“But this is your room,” he responds, making you now realize that all your belongings have been moved into this extra large bedroom. “And you are home.”
“No, this place isn’t home. It’s never been home and it will never be home. Goodsprings is my home and now that eighteen, I can go back to my house.”
First, Bruce is shocked to hear that you’re eighteen. For god’s sake, you’re so small! You’re even smaller than Tim!
Second, you plan to move out of the manor? He knows that they haven’t been the best family, but to move on the other side of the country?
He tries to convince you to stay, to recover from this awful ordeal, to let them make up for the years of mistreatment…
But you made it clear that you want nothing to do with them and that you believe they only did this because they feel guilty and they’ll go back to ignoring you.
It’s only then that he realizes the depths for his mistake. That you hate them so much that you’ve planned to get away from them for years.
He didn’t think he could feel lower than he has been ever since the accident, but you proved him wrong. He actually wants to curl up and die.
You make it clear that you’re leaving right now and there’s nothing they can do to stop you. You’re eighteen, after all.
That’s when something in him snaps. He wants you to stay here and he’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen.
He pulls Alfred out of the door and locks it, making you yell from the other side, saying that he can’t keep you in here.
He knows what he’s doing is wrong and that he has no right to make you stay, but he doesn’t care. You’re his firstborn and he’ll keep his family together, no matter what it takes.
He and Alfred call a family meeting in the room and fill them in on recent events.
At first, they were elated to hear that you’d finally awakened and they could talk to you. That quickly faded when they said you hated them and that you’d planned to leave them.
They agree that you can’t leave and they’ll all work together to get you to change your mind about them and want to be a part for the family.
Bruce went back up, thinking that the could appeal to you using whatever father-son relations that may be left.
That plan quickly died when you said he wasn’t your father, but a sperm donor and how your Momma made a huge mistake allowing him to sleep with her.
He stands there, taking insult after insult, watching as your face turns blood red from anger and eyes start treating tears of rage.
He wants to make it up to you, but knows that right now, he’s only going to make things worse, so he sends Dick up.
“Hey, baby bir—“ you cut off his greeting by throwing a heavy book at him that misses his head by half an inch.
“Fuck off, asshole,” you growl, practically foaming at the mouth.
He tries to calm you down, saying that he knows that he hasn’t been the best big brother, but—
Again, you cut him off, saying that he was a big brother to everyone else because he cared about them and that he made it clear you weren’t a little brother to him and that he’s not your brother. He’s nothing to you.
Ok, that stung a bit, but he’s determined to make amends!
“Everyone makes mistakes, little bird, and we’re ready to fix ours.”
You reward him with a backhand to the face and he takes that as his sign to leave.
Jason comes in, trying to think of something to say that won’t earn him a pimp slap like Dickhead.
“Look, kid, I get that you hate us. Really, I do.”
“Unless the next words out of your mouth are you saying I can go, get the fuck out.”
He knows where you’re coming from; for years, he despised Bruce and the others, but he learned to let go of his anger towards them and be a part of the family. And he wants that for you. It’s not safe out there and you could get hurt again.
But, when you say for him to go to hell, memories of the night Joker killed him resurface and his eyes flash that damn Lazarus green.
This causes you to tackle him, sending you both to the floor, and you wrap your hands around his neck in an attempt to strangle him.
He could get out this easily. The hold isn’t strong and you’re still weak from not moving for a month and even if you had recovered, you’re not trained in combat like them.
But he lies there, because he can see the rage in your eyes and as he listens to the hate in your voice as you hurl insults and threats at him, does he finally understand just how much he failed you.
He’s accused Bruce of replacing him with Tim and everyone of forgetting about him because he was too angry, too careless, and too brutal for Batman’s methods.
But because he was so pissed at them, he did the same thing to you. If he had just pulled his head out of his ass, he would’ve seen how they were treating you and taken you with him.
But he didn’t. And when you two met for the first time, he gave you a black eye because he thought you were just some brat Bruce was trying to replace him with, instead of a victim.
He’s only freed from your “hold” when Steph and Cass rush in, the two girls separating you two and pulling him out of there, closing the door when you start throwing anything you can get your hands on.
Tim’s been watching everything unfold since Bruce went up there using a camera he place in there when you were first moved in there. It was him that told the girls to go in there and rescue Jason when it looked like he had accepted to meeting his end by your hand.
He knows he has nothing say will get a better response from you and he’s never been good at emotions. That’s Dick’s specialty.
But he knows how to observe, to find ways to improve hopeless situations into his favor.
And that’s what he’ll do. You’ll eventually say something he can use to make you calm down and try to get you to give them a chance to prove themselves to you.
And if that fails? Stockholm Syndrome will eventually kick in and that’ll be the perfect chance to strike.
Finally, Damian comes in after an hour after Jason’s rescue.
“Oh what fresh hell is this,” you wonder as he closes the door behind him.
“Hello, brother. How are you today”
As he expected, you go into a rage, spitting insults and swears at him.
Only when he pulls out you Mother’s pen do you stop, completely shocked at seeing him in possession of it.
He understands why you’re acting like there’s an active bomb in the room instead of him. The last time he held this pen…
He brushes the memory of the even aside. That won’t do him any good here.
“I’ve been holding onto it for you since the accident. The others wanted it placed in the vault, but I insisted I could protect it.”
You swipe it from him and he allows you, knowing that pen means more to you than anything. After all, he remembers how you responded when he took it.
Looking back on it, he should’ve respected you for standing up to him like that, not knowing what would happen to you.
“I know my past actions are reprehensible at best, but i hope you will allow me the opportunity to make amends with you, brother.”
When you two first met, he hated you because you were a threat to what he believed to be his birthright. And when he realized you were untrained in any form of combat or self defense, he deemed you an embarrassment to the Wayne lineage.
But after living with Father and his siblings, learning what it means to be a real family, he knows he has something the others never will: a brother bound to him by blood. Someone he’s connected to at the genetic level.
“We’re not brothers,” you say. “We may share DNA, but we’re not brothers. You made that clear when you gave me this scar.”
That scar will serve as a permanent reminder of his mistake. How he hurt someone he should’ve cherished. And he’ll spend the rest of his days trying to fix that mistake and make you see him as a brother, as someone you can trust, as someone you can love and be loved by.
You may have broken free of being held captive in your mind, but now you’re in another prison and your “loving family” are the wardens. And they have no intention of letting you go. One way or another, you’ll take you rightful place in the Wayne Family.
this is not a ship post, but something that frustrates me a lot in fanon concerning Jason Todd that attempts to soften Jason's return to Gotham for the sake of found family domesticity or easy hurt/comfort or just sliding him into the Batfam sooner, is they all seem to fundamentally misunderstand Jason.
because there seem to be a lot of fandom popular concepts of Jason coming home much sooner and just not having his whole Under The Red Hood arc. which in theory is fine and i can see the want to simplify canon to make room for your lighthearted more fluff-leaning concepts. but in everyone without fail, the way they address the clown-shaped elephant in the room is by having some throwaway line that "oh Jason quietly kills the Joker and moves on".
when the Joker being dead or alive is not the *point*. if by some chance accident, the Joker had died prior to Jason's return, whether by ridiculous freak accident, getting whacked by a fellow villain, hell even someone actually doing so to avenge Jason, it *would not* satiate Jason's anger. because Jason's end goal in UtRH is not to simply kill the Joker: it is to make *Bruce* kill the Joker. Jason's anger is directed to the idea that to Jason, if Bruce truly loved Jason, he would've killed the Joker. that is love, for Jason. compromising your personal values for love and not letting someone go unavenged. when Jason was Robin, almost every angry or misguided thing he did was born of love. he wanted to kill/hurt Two-Face because he believed Dent killed his father. he was so angry at Felipe because an innocent woman was dead due to that man's actions. he wanted to save his mother in a situation he knew he shouldn't be in because he loved her. his anger, his violence, it is driven by love and feelings of righting wrongs. that is how he thinks wrongs *should* be righted. that is how you avenge and *love* someone.
because so long as Jason's return to Gotham doesn't end in Bruce killing the Joker (which, it never will bc Bruce is Bruce), Jason will never forgive Bruce. you cannot wave away the layers of hurt and complicated trauma by killing Joker offscreen. because Jason will still be angry that Bruce didn't avenge him. in his eyes, that means Bruce did not love him enough. he was not truly loved by Bruce the way he loved Bruce. bc Bruce was Jason's whole *world*. prior to being taken in, Dick and Tim, they had support systems. they had loved ones. they knew what stability and healthy family love looked like. Jason *didn't*. and that's not to say that Catherine Todd did not love him with her whole heart and thus he loved her, but it certainly wasn't a stable and safe support system for Jason to grow up in. Bruce was Jason's first real sense of a stable, healthy life. and so of course Jason poured everything into Bruce and loved Bruce so devoutly. Bruce was his world. like he says, if it had been Bruce, Jason would've stopped at nothing.
so his betrayal is rooted in that he was not avenged, not that Joker is alive. so long as the Joker does not die by Bruce's hands, it will never be enough for Jason. (in this era, at least.) notably, this is also why i don't think it would change a thing if Jason knew the whole "oh Bruce wanted to kill the Joker but Superman stopped him" tidbit that fanon has really latched onto as a way to pacify Jason's anger toward Bruce. Jason knowing that wouldn't change a thing, in my opinion. because Jason knows Bruce. and a tenant of Bruce's character is that he grapples with murder *every day*. the whole point is how *easy* it would be for him. he is a human weapon, trained by killers, trained to be deadly. he is the greatest strategist to exist. he knows he could kill someone and get away with it. *no* trace, no proof, nothing. and he knows he *wants* to. wants to kill the Joker, Joe Chill, anyone who's hurt him that viscerally.
but he *doesn't*. that's the point. Bruce wakes up every day with that question on his mind, and every day the answer is the same. Bruce's morality is not a decision he made in an alleyway when his parents died, it's a decision he continues to make every day and he *must* continue to make in order to remain who he is. Jason is quite familiar with the fact that Bruce grapples with this daily. i do not think it surprised nor fazed Jason to know that Bruce did *consider* killing the Joker. that he wanted to. maybe even planned to. but a consideration, a want, a plan, is just a thought. it's nothing substantial, and substance is everything to Jason. at the end of the day, Bruce didn't. he was talked down by *Clark* of all people with an excuse of diplomatic immunity, as if Jason and Bruce don't both know that Bruce could've *easily* found a way to make it look like an accident or some other loophole. because he's Batman. there's always a loophole. he always finds a way when he actually intends to. but he never actually intended to kill the Joker. so he didn't. and Jason would know that there was never an intent. it's an interesting piece of fodder to add to the nuance of Jason and Bruce, but honestly, i think it'd make Jason angrier to have that excuse thrown in his face. as if Bruce hasn't beaten Clark half a dozen times by now. it's a flimsy nonsense excuse that Jason would rip to shreds.
so while yes, i understand the wish for easy lighthearted fanfic that doesn't have to deal with the nuances of canon, i think that Jason's character will always be so deeply robbed and altered if you try to fix his thirst for vengeance with an off-page killing of Joker at Jason's hands. it was never the point. the point was that -in his own eyes- he wasn't loved enough for Bruce to make an acception. he realized that not even his *death* would come before Bruce's Mission. Jason truly believed that Bruce loved him and held him as the most important thing in the world, and now he has proof that Bruce didn't. because the Mission mattered more.
i'm not saying i have a solution to this conundrum if you're attempting to solve it for fanfic/fanon, nor am i even saying it's a bad thing it exists. i just think it becoming overwhelmingly common has led to misunderstandings surrounding Jason's motivations and feelings about this arc and it's an unsatisfying solution that only seeks to pacify Jason's rage and his trauma responses for the sake of found family-ification.
#necrotic festerings#jason todd#fandom meta#idk man this isn't too serious it's really just me noticing this becoming a dominate thing#also this post isn't a subtweet at literally anyone specifically#it's a commentary on a trend as a whole#so no one think i'm like. being shady pls.#and if you write jason killing the joker himself during this era that is okay and it's valid#i just don't want the fandom largely treating it as in character#but ooc fanfic is allowed to exist! that's valid yk!#also i once again wanna reiterate all of this is commentary on *this era*#this is a pre-flashpoint meta.#jason's realtionship to his trauma *wildly* changed in both new-52 and rebirth so yeah. he's at a point he's “moved on”#and either seeks to kill joker himself or seeks to just let go of the whole thing#depending on the arc#(but if i get into that then i get into my feelings on how jason has had no consistent characterization in the past decade. so.)#(that's a can of worms we're not opening here it will make some ppl mad and i'm not dealing with it.)#is this how i start writing serious character metas and not unhinged shippy ones. idk#i've got others in my head but#i fear the discourse#if the discourse on this post gets bad i will turn off replies and reblogs idc#this is me testing the waters. ig.#also if a single person tries to argue about tim not having a loving family i will bite you /lh#yes he did. the drakes make not have done the *best* job! i'm not arguing that.#but they loved him and he had a support system.
(*・∀・*)ノ I wanted to fix my request on the cody one since ik you don't do cody so sorry! Can you do a scenario if zalgo were to put a 24 hour curse on the creeps so that their personality would flip and then slender would have to deal with some of his kids being super rude but some being super nice? (Sorry again and sorry if this is an odd request (ToT))
I appreciate you fixing it! I was going to handle it myself, so I appreciate you helping me :) I hope you enjoy, I tried!
He thinks he must be dreaming. Surely, Slender thinks, this must just be a very realistic nightmare that he's living in, but nope, this is his life. He knows the spell won't last more than a day or two, but he cannot wait for all of this to be over and for things to go back to normal, because this is absolute hell. Normally, they all get along, and act (generally) respectfully toward Slender. But now, now there's constant screaming, there's constant yelling, and the mansion has become swallowed up in chaos. He can't even depend on Tim, his right-hand man, to help him with this because Tim has become the most disrespectful of them all, and quite honestly, it hurt Slender's feelings, not gonna lie.
In an unlikely turn of events, the ones he has to turn to for any amount of support are Kate, Helen, and Candy, who are the most stable. Kate who is usually an energetic trouble maker has become calm and stoic, listening to Slender easily, and then there's Helen, the avoidant guy who is now incredibly emotional and clingy, and Candy, who despite his normal shenanigans like Kate, has become incredibly toned down and serious to the extent Slender wondered if it was Terrors he was speaking to and not Candy. Kate and Candy easily separate fights together, of which there are many. It's heartbreaking for Slender to see the family he has built quite literally tearing itself apart at the seams. Natalie and Toby are screaming at each other and breaking things, Tim and Brian (the two who have never fought before in their lives) have been arguing for hours, and that's just the stuff he can see and hear, he has no idea what anyone he can't find it up to, and it worries him. Not because of the mansion itself, but because he worries for their safety and their feelings. Kate and Candy do their best for damage control, eventually corralling everyone and getting them somewhere Slender can see, but the bickering continued, until finally, Helen snapped.
Their personalities may have switched, but the sight of Helen, who never expresses emotion, breaking down sobbing and just asking for everyone to calm down and get along so they could be a family again triggered something in all of their brains, and they all shut up and did as he had asked. Some of them had even apologized to Helen (and Slender as well), but the display had clearly gotten them to relax. They all stayed in the same room together, all eventually falling asleep, and finally waking up the next day having returned to normal. Of course, despite the spell, they all remember the previous day, and there are a lot of tears and apologies to just about everyone in the mansion. Those who broke things were quick to clean them up and offer to repay Slender, those who had arguments apologized and asked for forgiveness, and just about everyone was apologizing to Helen for upsetting him so much, which caused Helen to become extremely embarrassed, curling in on himself and wishing he could disappear because of his actions the previous day. It made Slender so happy to see them all apologizing and trying to fix things, but he was mostly just happy to have his peace and calm back, especially as they were all doing their best to make it up to him. The only person to miss the entire fiasco was poor nocturnal EJ, who had slept through the day and upon waking up at night had felt unusually lazy due to his personality change, so he went back to sleep. Upon finally coming downstairs that afternoon, he was very confused by the sound of all the broken things being thrown away and the sound of so many people crying, wondering what the fuck had happened. It was an awkward explanation, to say the least.
Halloween AU pt.2
A continuation of:
Tim centric
It’s been four months since his parents were last home. About a month since he ran out of food. Three days ago the water faucets stopped working. Good news! His parents should be home soon! They promised they’d be home for his birthday! It’s his birthday tomorrow so his parents must be home soon! Until then he’ll wait in his safe spot. Years ago he had found a hollowed out section of wall in his closet. He can hear everything in the house from that spot. It’s also the warmest spot in the house. Especially when he moves the boxes to block the draft from entering his little budding spot. With the heater broken durning the unusually cold weather, the isolation of the walls keep his little hiddy hole warm. With nothing else to distract himself from his thirst and hunger, he might as well take a nap until his parents return home.
When Tim wakes up he’s face to face with his own body. Fear and confusion runs through him. What is he going to do when his parents get home?
He fazes through everything instead of touching it. At least he doesn’t feel hungry any more.
It’s another two months before his parents return home. With that time was able to practice picking things up and interact with the tangible world. If he didn’t know he was dead he would think he was still apart of the living.
After helping his parents unpack the first thing he says is “I died while you where away”
“Don’t be ridiculous Timothy you’re just fine. Obviously you’re standing right here” his mother responds
“No im a ghost!” Tim insisted
“There’s no such thing as ghost sport cease this game at once” his father answers
“No really my body is in my closet!”
The family argues back and forth for a bit which Jack and Janet believing Tim to be playing a game. They angrily look in his closet only to not see his body. After all it’s in the hidden hiddy hole in the very back behind some of the boxes. His parents leave before time could move the boxes out of the way. His body is certainly worse for wear. Areas have puffed up in some spots while other areas of flesh has melted away. When he first woke up after dieing his body only looked like it was asleep, now it looks like it belongs in a zombie movie.
Three years later
Jack and Janet are disappointed that Tim hasn’t grown any, he makes a shrimp ten year old. Tim has stopped insisting that he’s dead. The creative punishment his parents dish out has long made him stop wanting to prove his death.
Tim still checks on what’s left of his body, it’s mostly bone now, but it’s proof he’s not crazy and that he really did die. He watched as his flesh slowly rotted away.
He’s made friends with the Waynes, they think he’s a normal human boy, all be it a bit small. He learns that other undead creatures exist, as well as other hunting beings. Jason is another undead, though he got to keep his original body. He was murdered by a clown about a year after Bruce took him in. No one has seen the clown since then though. Tim suspects that the clown may have been one of the goul’s first meals that the werbat provided. That would explain why Jason was so quick to forgive Bruce and why the clown hasn’t been seen again.
Jason brings a lot of raw meat for his school lunches, usually beef or lamb. Though recently it’s been a lot more lamb than cow, Tim wonders why that’s the case.
One day Jason drags Tim back to Wayne manor under the guise of studying for their upcoming test together. Tim was quick to bond with the rest of the family. He’s felt more at home here than he’s ever felt back in drake manner. It doesn’t take long until Tim becomes a regular guest at Wayne manor.
Even though he doesn’t need to eat, Tim never turns down a meal. In fact, he’s almost always snacking on something. Even on those cardboard cookies no one likes. Well it might be more accurate to say he doesn’t physically need to eat. He gets anxious if he hasn’t had any thing to eat for a while. It’s nice of the Wayne’s to bring him all these extra snacks though!
Two years later
Tim is a regular fixture in Wayne manor. After finding out how often his parents are away they insisted that he’d stay with them.
This brings us to the current problem. Cass needs to cast a protection charm on the manner, a ward agent an evil cult. Unfortunately there’s one ingredient that Cass can’t get her hands on.
“A bone of an unburied one freely given.”
What this means is that she needs a bone of someone who hasn’t had a funeral, which means she can’t just buy one off of a donated body. Stupid old spells with stupid specific unwritten rules that make more sense or the time period it was written in and not modern day. She also can’t look for lost hikers in the woods because they can’t give consent to being in the spell.
But Tim could help! He’s never had a funeral, and he’s here to give his consent for using his bones! It’s a win win!
While the older Wayne’s were trying to figure out how the spell would work with some from if substitute Tim convinces Jason to come help him get something from his bedroom back in drake manor.
“So what are we grabbing baby bird?” Jason asks Tim
“You’ll see when we get there” Tim replies. He’s learned that he can’t convince people he’s dead. He learned that the hard way.
“Okay okay but why am I bringing a box again?”
“My boxes are all stained”
Tim brings Jason to his closet where he moves those old boxes out of the way.
“Baby bird what is this?” Jason asks a little freak out about the skeleton in the closet.
“The missing ingredient for cass’s spell!” Tim answers cheerfully.
“Tim, we can’t use this with out their permission, why do you have a corps in your closet?” Jason is freaking out that there’s a dead person in the baby bird’s closet and he doesn’t know how it got there.
“No im giving you permission to use it!”
“Tim you can’t give permission for someone else’s body”
“No! Jason you don’t understand! I’m giving you permission to use it!” Tim has frustration tears in his eyes.
That’s how Jason found out that his baby bird was dead, be the looks of it he’s been dead for a while.
“Now help me bring it to Cass?”
azv2448 sent me a very... interesting request... let us all see how it goes yes?
Here we go!
Markov has been suspicious towards Lila Rossi since her first day. While her stories interested the class… Markov noticed she would never show pictures or videos or anything to confirm her stories at all.
Because of this Markov did the one thing no one who believed Lila’s stories ever did… research her online, he found nothing, in fact he only found Alya’s blog as a result on Lila in the end… which told him she was a liar in the end. He tried to inform Max of his research but his best friend and creator ignores him… and then Markov uncovers something horrible and cruel.
After a while, the little robot discovers that not only is the class bullying Marinette while accusing her of doing horrible things to Lila that were simply not true, but Adrien was also harassing her to force her to date him.
Markov knew that what they were all doing was wrong… but it was clear that they were all too blinded to care about it so he took it upon himself to record all of there actions… who harms her physically, mentally, who steals her things, who destroys her things and each time Marinette rejected Adrien and told him she already has a boyfriend… which angered Markov greatly.
For a whole week he records everything… once he believed he had enough… Markov decided to go one last time to Max “Max? Please listen to me… Lila Rossi has done nothing but lie 100% of the time she speaks to you! If you continue down this path you will be no better then Hawkmoth!” he pleaded… but Max instead shut him down “Lila was right. Markov was a failure, I’ll to redo the entire work for the next one so this doesn’t happen again” he says as he throws Markov out the window of his room.
He didn’t care that Tim Drake was walking by when Markov hit him on the head before he caught him “Huh? Isn’t this a little like the little robot Nettie spoke about?” he mumbled to himself before heading to Marinette’s place. When he arrived Mari wasn’t there… instead it was her parent’s and the Kent’s who greeted him before together they got Markov to turn on once more.
“Where am I? Wait… is the Marinette Dupain-Cheng’s parents’ bakery?” he asked making Sabine confirm it… Markov quickly began to tell them everything he knew… Damian and Jason sadly came over at that moment… and had to quickly be restrained from going out to “talk” to the class and Adrien.
Bruce who was there contacted his lawyers while Clark and Louise began talking with Markov to get the footage he collected for an entire week, it was then that Chloe ran into the bakery in a panic “Quick! It’s Mari!” she cried out just as Kagami and Luka brought in Marinette who was injured “What happened!?” Jon asked as they brought her up to the couch to be examined and treated.
“It was Adrien. He ran over to us as we were on our way back and asked to speak to Marinette alone. We moved a little away and heard him trying to pressure her into dating him, she rejected him of course… and then Adrien attacked her. We rushed over to help her and then rushed here” Kagami explained as they discovered that Mari’s injuries weren’t severe.
Tim began to work to look at the data in Markov for the footage and added his own work “I updated your coding with my own… it should protect you from anyone who might try to hack you to wipe everything” he explained making Markov thank him.
It takes a while, but Mari wakes up to Markov apologizing to her for not getting Max to see the truth about Lila, of course Mari forgives him and offers him to live in her home “It’s not perfect but I hope it’s alright” she explained and the robot agreed to the offer. Within a few days, Markov has greatly improved Mari’s life… she wakes up early, is able to schedule different commissions she needs to work on, is able to quickly what she’s running out of and many more things including helping her parents at the bakery.
Soon, Louise and Clark go public with the fact that Lila Rossi is a liar, Adrein harassing Marinette and the footage of everything the class has done to her. Chloe helped by getting the police involved to investigate the entire thing while Bruce makes sure his lawyers help where they can… of course though… there is chaos… in which case Lila once more becomes Volpina who claimed all of this was a lie.
“I have proof!” she claimed as Ladybug, Queen Bee, Ryuko, Viperion, Superman, Superboy and the entire Batfam appeared before her “You mean you have an illusion ready to lie your way out?” Red Hood said as Nightwing knocked her out and released her akuma so Ladybug could purify it… of course Cat Noir wasn’t there… it wasn’t that hard for him to be hit with venom so his ring could be taken… revealing him as Adrien.
Hawkmoth reveals himself to akumatized her but the gang surrounds him and takes him down… revealing him to be Gabriel Agreste. He is quickly arrested for his crimes against Paris, Damocles, Caline and the class get sued for there actions towards Marinette. Due to there beliefs towards Lila, none of them think they did anything wrong to her at all, the lawsuits ruined all of them of course.
Chloe, Kagami, Luka and Marinette all moved to the states where they would be safe and away from the bad guys, they became so famous and popular that news spread all the way to Paris about them. The class of course regretted their actions… but Alya was worse, she tried calling Mari in the hopes she would be forgiven and helped but quickly received a cease-and-desist letter to never contact Mari again which broke her heart as she like the class wondered how their lives would have been had they not bullied her.
The last thing they heard… were Mari to Damien, Chloe to Jon and Kagami to Luka’s weddings. It was the top of the talk and the one thing people kept talking about. Of course the class often heard about it and deeply regretted there actions even more… each of them picturing what they would have been doing for Marinette’s big day had they not bullied her… Alya imagined the post she would have made for her blog (without Mari’s permission like always) Adrien imagined himself marrying Marinette, some imagined the party they have had for her while others imagined helping her pick her dress or what she would have made them to wear for her big day.
Meanwhile… Lila was seething with rage; it wasn’t fair that her life was ruined while Marinette soared into fame! It should be her marrying a rich and famous person, she should be the one having an amazing wedding… but instead Marinette was happy and enjoying her happy ending while Lila suffered for her crimes.
Good thing Max threw Markov out though! It was all thanks to him that Marinette got justice and is now happy!
The Arrangement
Ch 1 Old Habit
Damian Wayne x OC!Female
Next
Damian sighed, and she began to move, unlatching herself from him and moving away. He looked at her, confused. " I know that sigh. It's your 'I have to leave' sigh." Despite her thoughts and feelings, she moved away, allowing him to begin his departure.
"I didn't realize I had become habitual."
"No, I've just known you long enough to see the small tell." She watches him as he puts on his mask and heads for her window.  " Robin?" he turns back towards her. " Thank you, and Good Luck." And he vanishes into the night.
-
"Looks like you're falling back into old habits," Tim flinched so hard that he swore his heart stopped. He blamed his sleep deprivation on why Jason got so close without being noticed. He needed sleep.
"Stop," Tim whined as he tried to swat Jason's hands away from his laptop.
"Stalking Robin truly is a pastime for you," Jason teased as he scrolled through the pictures of Robin, aka Damian.
"What a minute, go back!" Tim was sure his heart stopped this time as he flinched so hard he fell out of his chair. Fortunately, Dick caught him and sat him up straight. Tim was going to bed after this.
"Who is that?" Dick asked. Tim rubbed his face before looking. Robin stood next to a girl in a red and black Kimono with the League of Assassins insignia.
"I don't know"
"When did you take this picture?"
"I don't know"
"How-"
"I haven't slept for 73 hours. I am surviving on power naps, energy drinks, and caffeine. I don't remember everything. Forgive me if I miss a few details."  While complaining, Tim worked to get the details of that photo and other similar photos. He knew that things could slip past him with his lack of sleep and had programs to back up his work on such occasions. He pulled up the dates and locations on each photo.
"All of these took place within the last week or so," Dick said, scrolling through the details.
"I didn't get my first clear picture of her until today. Haven't run it through any database yet."
"We'll take it from here. Got to bed," Jason said, pushing Tim out of his seat.
"But-"
"Nope, time for bed," Dick said as he pulled Tim away and towards the door. Jason could hear Tim's weak protest down the hall as they went. " Tim is snug as a bug," Dick said smugly when he returned. Tim was too tired to fight Dick's swattling. A Win in his book.
"Nobody," Jason said as Dick sat down at the counter next to him. " Every database, every agency, this chick doesn't exist."
"Not a surprise," Dick said " It is the league. Does he know when or why she came into town? What's her relationship to Damian?"
"I don't know; there are no notes. All I got was pictures, nothing else. At least not that I can find."
"We'll have to talk to Tim when he wakes up. And look into her. We'll also keep a closer eye on Robin during patrol. "
It was obvious from the body language that Damian not only knew the girl but was comfortable with her. While Dick was suspicious and cautious, especially with the league, in the case of Damian, he did not wish to jump to conclusions that might get him hurt. They'd wait. Damian was home now and in bed; they'd wait until they had more information and more people. They'd wait.
-
"We can't keep meeting like this," Robin said as he walked up to her, as she tied up the unconscious men. She wore her usual black and red kimono and mask but was bare of any weapons aside from her grabbing hook. She tried never to carry a weapon in Gotham at Robin's request. She looked at him, confused. " Almost every time we meet, it is surrounded by unconscious thugs. It's the standard now."
He didn't say anything, instead calling Oracle to tell her that he had come upon a drug bust and handled it on his own. He'd take the lecture later. He listens for the chorus of disapproval for a bit, then mutes his comm again. She hung her catch, and the two left before the police arrived.
"has my mother contacted you?"
"Not yet. Then again, she thinks I'm still in South America. I finished my mission earlier and didn't tell," she said, leaning back against the wall. He looked over the edge, watching down below.
"How many days do you have left?"
"Three, not including tonight."
"Time is in our favor then."
"Only if you let it be. Do you have plans after this?" she asked, leaning on his waist as he leaned over the edge.
"No"
"Do you want to come over? Watch a movie? and have late-night snacks. Just spend a late night together."
"Acceptable"
"Come to my place when you're done," she said as she saluted him and then disappeared into the shadows. He'd go back to her safe house later on. And spending some alone time together without beating up thugs. He'd like a light of peace or semi-peace. If only for an hour or even 30 minutes. Just time with her.
"L-Lance...Tempo is...."
In a long, fast walk, the Negatis arrive at La Madriguera. On the shimmering powdered floor lay Balan holding the unconscious Tempo. The top-hatted maestro's eyes were glittering with despair and his breathing was labored.
"L-Lance...Tempo is...."
Lance looks at the young master, and definitely thought the same thing...Tempo is deceased.
"It's...it's impossible! She's a maestro just like us!" Balan's scream echoes in the area and with his heart aching and holding back his aura, he hugs the young lady and resting his head on her chest to look for some heartbeat.
Lance almost falls into the same hopeless situation as Balan, as King Negati notices something that caught his attention.
"Idiot! The WonderWatch is gone! IT WAS STOLEN!"
"What?!" Balan raises his head and fixes his eyes on Lance.
"Wanky'u saw a visitor who took the watch and escaped in one of the holes in La Madriguera!"
"Then on another... alternate line it must be..."- Balan expresses looking at Lance-"...Damn it! If that's why ,then Tempo, get at least some of my energy!"
Balan squeezes Tempo's right hand and transmits his energy, positivity energy. The pink-haired lady receives this energy and manages to recover the clear color of her bright makeup, but such energy causes spasms that make her scream from the pain without waking her up.
"What is happening?" Balan exclaims when he sees his dear companion screaming in pain.
Little Timmi approaches Balan jumping and screaming, as if he knew the reason for the situation "Tiii mimuuuuutuuuumuuuuuuuuuu..."
"Is it too much positive energy? So it's not working?"
King Negati approaches and crouches down to the maestro level. He takes Tempo's left hand and transmits the negative energy to her. Finally, the young girl recovers and her pain-laden face becomes neutral, but still, she does not wake up.
Tumblr media
"With this, at least she'll be able to hold on a little, won't she Lance?"
"But still...our own energy is being absorbed with no return, careful we must be."
Timmi and Wanky'u approaches the maestros, knowing that they will have to start an important mission to save their beloved Maestro of Opportunity.
The Maestro of WonderWorld looks at Tempo's two little companions with a sadness on his face-"Timmi, Wanky'u, forgive me for this, but we cannot walk away from Tempo or her rotting body will be and her 'essence' will not be able to return. So I ask you..."
Balan could not continue speaking with grief and sobs from the pain of seeing his dear companion in the state that you could bring in the future if the valuable pocket watch is not back.
Lance looking at Balan, arms courage and after many years, contain his painful feelings of anguish, to stand firm before the little creatures and help them as best as possible.
"Little ones, for the watch go, and , that at this time this place is becoming distorted, it will be easier for you to find at least, the presence of the watch."
La Madriguera is physically created by Alicia's heart, therefore, without that heart, the environment is distorted in a worse way and more space-time holes will open than usual.
Maestro Negati pulls out a few strands of Tempo's hair and said hair transforms them into two beautiful stones the color of Tempo's hair and hands them to each other.
"This stone will at least react with a glow as soon as the clock is near. You must be attentive to the holes. If it is the right one, go in there and recover the watch. Back..."
Wanky'u looks at Lance with a serious expression and sad eyes, almost on the verge of tears. The little Negati rabbit didn't think about it and runs to find in the holes.
Timmi follows him but is stopped by the king's voice.
"Timmi...you are not just any Tim...you have taken good care of Wanky'u."
Bruce Wayne gets One Wish (tw Canon violence)
And he wishes that he made it in time.
He carries Jason away from an exploding building. He takes him home and nurses his wounds. The boy cries from the pain, from the fear, and the betrayal. Bruce holds him until he cries himself to sleep, then when Jason wakes up he holds him again.
Dick comes by to see if Jason is alright.
"I'm sorry," Bruce blurts out, determined to make it right this time, "I'm sorry that I took Robin from you. I shouldn't have."
Nightwing stares at him like he's grown a second head. "You've never apologized to me before."
"I hurt you," Bruce says, "And I'm sorry."
Dick doesn't forgive him immediately, but suddenly, Nightwing finds more excuses to be in Gotham.
Any free moment Bruce has he spends with Jason, doing everything with him he should have done before. He holds him and tells him how brave he is every day. Jason eventually decides on another superhero identity. When Batman returns to the field, it is with a little boy called Falcon.
Bruce knows about the Drakes. A few phone calls and a few greased palms and they're arrested for what they've done to Tim.
Now Tim is back in his home. He's younger than when Bruce originally met him, and he shows little interest in taking on Jason's position. Bruce makes sure to keep that curious mind of his entertained. He's happy to see that this version of Jason doesn't mind having a little brother in the house.
It isn't hard to track down Cluemaster'a daughter. It's even easier to adopt her. Stephanie is a lively child, and now his first daughter. She likes to play with Barbara often. Bruce keeps his secret identity from her until she is older.
Getting Damian from Talia is difficult, but he manages. Soon, he's putting his son in his crib. Damian is a bit of a fussy baby, which leads to some sleepless nights, but Bruce can't say he minds, especially when Damian holds onto his fingers. Dick has started visiting often. He hasn't taken back the mantle of Robin, but Bruce assures him it is his to pass down when he's ready. He assumes that the mantle will go to Damian when it's time, but that's for Dick to decide.
He regrets how long it takes him to find Cassandra again. When he does, her parents have already done some damage. She's not as quiet or reserved. Sometimes she even breaks things with Jason, Tim, and Stephanie by accident. He smiles every time they do. He still enrolls her in ballet.
He fails to save Duke's parents in spite of his best efforts. At least when Duke comes to the manor, it is to a house full of children who are all ready and willing to bring him into the family. Bruce is more than willing to lend an ear to him.
Sometimes, Jason still has nightmares. He comes to Bruce on these nights. Bruce promises to be there for him, no matter how old he gets. Tim eventually becomes a hero too, and Bruce introduces him to Bart and Kon. It takes some effort, but they become friends again. Stephanie trains, but takes less of an interest in heroics. She'll still come when needed, but she has a life to live. Cassandra laughs more often, and she gets a leading role in Swan Lake. She even joins some clubs at school. She decides to become a hero in her own time. Duke becomes the Signal just the same, but Bruce encourages him to lead his own path, whatever that may be. Duke goes to college, studying psychology. He still patrols and comes home on the weekends. Damian is now using water colors as he tells Bruce and Dick what he's learning in school.
Bruce Wayne gets one wish, and he decides to make it right.
How would Tim Drake react to his guy crush laying his head on his (Tim's) and wrapping his arms around Tim's waist.
Cause Reader is super tired from both of them having to pull 3 all nighters in a row.
-Crow
Nothing like a good ol' Crow ask to steer me into my comeback! Anyways LMFAO I think that You and Tim were tired, spending three nights awake in a row will do that to you though. The longer you two worked the closer you were to completing your goal which meant slowly but surely there was less and less work to be done. So for the first time in what felt like a year you finally found yourself able to take a minute away from everything as the only thing you guys had to do now was wait. Well for you at least, Tim himself did have a security camera he insisted on watching 24/7 despite knowing it'd alert you both if it spotted your target. Either way, you having time led you to sit next to Tim on the couch, fatigue immediately enveloping your body. You sighed as your arm snuck its way behind Tim's back, mumbling something about being too tired. A yawn escaping you made Tim chuckle and he suggested you catch some much needed shut eye and that he'd wake you if your target was spotted. You agreed silently, your eyes drooping despite your weak efforts at keeping them open. You decided to let it happen though after rendering Tim's words, your head falling to the side and resting on top of his as your arm tightened around his waist to pull him closer and you fell asleep just like that. Tim however, felt wide awake all of a sudden, his heart beating out of his chest as he feels your rise up and down with your breathing. He gulped, trying to calm himself down and focus on the screen but the way your arm was holding him so tight was very distracting. He couldn't stop himself from leaning into you more either, relishing in your warmth. Maybe he'll just let the computer alert you both after all as he takes the time to enjoy the position you're in. (I tried- I'm a bit rusty so forgive me)
REPOST AND LIST 6 SONGS THAT INSPIRE YOU TO WRITE YOUR MUSE:
just a man by EPIC the Musical
Every man I've slain is the price I pay, endless pain. Close your eyes and spare yourself the view. How could I hurt you? / But when does the comet become a meteor? When does a candle become a blaze? When does a man become a monster? When does a ripple become a tidal wave? When does the reason become the blame? When does a man become a monster? / (forgive me)
what could have been by Sting, Ray Chen
I am the monster you created, you ripped out all my parts. And worst of all, for me to live, I gotta kill the part of me that saw that I needed you more / I hope you know we had everything and you broke me and left these pieces. I want you to hurt like you hurt me today and I want you to lose like I lose when I play what could have been
saturn by Sleeping at Last, Tim Fain
You taught me the courage of stars before you left, how light carries on endlessly, even after death / With shortness of breath, I'll try to explain the infinite and how rare and beautiful it truly is that we exist
when it's cold i'd like to die by Moby
Where were you when I was lonesome? Locked away with freezing cold. Someone flying, only stolen. I can't tell, this night's so old / What was that, my sweet, sweet nothing? I can't hear you through the fog. If I holler, let me go. If I falter, let me know / I don't wanna swim the ocean. I don't wanna fight the tide. I don't wanna swim forever
your world will fail by Les Friction
Your world has got you controlled and silent. You can't fill a whole with a billion empty souls. Your world has got you alone and silent / Your world will fail my love, it's far beyond repair. Your world will fail my love, it's already there. Calm before the rage, hostage in a cage. Now it's too late to wake up this place and bring you all back to life
the man who can't forget by the Bardbells
The colors of his morning, the darkness of his night, little graves that gave no warning, a sun that brought no light / he saw his whole world breaking, that tortured soul I met in a prison of his making / I can still hear the way that he cried for the ones he was missing. I can still hear the way that he cried for the ones he had lost / He caused the whole world’s breaking, the tortured soul I met, in a prison of his making. the man who can’t forget
I could make an even longer post including panels to explain all the reasons why I don't agree with the people I've seen online who act like the recent stories of Tim saving Bruce at the end of Batman #135 and Damian saving Bruce at the end of Batman vs Robin are very similar and treating Tim and Damian equally good, but that would probably end up being too long. So here is the slightly less long version to explain what fundamentally sets them apart:
Tim is simply allowed to be good and heroic with no drawbacks. And Damian is not.
There was no argument before Bruce vanished that Tim saving him is an apology for. Bruce didn't get lost because of a mistake Tim made. Tim's way of travelling through the multiverse didn't require him to do anything bad to get it and his travels don't have any negative consequences for him or the places he goes to. Tim didn't only manage to save Bruce after asking for help from a bunch of other characters he met during his journey through the multiverse.
He is simply allowed to be Batman's shining saviour.
Now that alone isn't a problem. The problem is that the other character currently wearing the Robin mantle gets treated very differently.
If Damian was the one trying to save Bruce in the same arc I'm pretty sure some of the things I've listed above, if not all of them, would have been done. Because making Damian at fault for the problem he is trying to solve, punishing him repeatedly for messing up and not letting him solve the problem simply through the power of his own abilities is a pretty persistent pattern in Damian's stories.
Like in Batman vs Robin, a recent story some people try to argue gave Damian a "Robin saves Batman" story equally as nice as the one Tim just got.
Let me break down what Damian's role in that story actually is:
He opens the tomb of Nezha because of his recklessness, Mother Soul only had to arrange for the key to fall into his hands (thus causing all the following terrible events)
He gets possessed by Nezha
He tries and fails to kill his father multiple times, not because Damian is successful in fighting back against Nezha's possession, but because Bruce is simply shown to be superior to him in every way
Bruce dons the helmet of fate and frees everyone possessed by Nezha from his influence, including Damian
Damian begs Bruce for forgiveness
Damian and Talia try to defeat Mother Soul but she simply jumps into an abyss
Damian tries to stop Nezha from killing Bruce, but Nezha then just tries to shoot Damian instead and Bruce jumps in front of the blast, causing him to die
Black Alice and Pigsy manage to revive Bruce, but he's still in a very bad condition
Damian flies them all out of there and crashlands the plane into the Hall of Justice
Damian tries to explain to the heroes what is going on, but everyone turns to (a barely conscious) Batman and they only start listening to Damian once Bruce tells them to do so
Damian comes up with a very vague plan that...I guess one of the two teams had success? The other part of the plan failed and had some unintended consequences though, like Nezha taking full control of Bruce's body, which turned Bruce into nothing more than a husk for Nezha.
Damian remains at the Hall of Justice while the other heroes leave to execute his plan
He gets attacked by King Fire Bull and is completely useless the entire fight even after gaining temporary powers (seriously, it's stated in the book that his heat vision does nothing against a magic being like King Fire Bull)
He yells at King Fire Bull that if he learned anything these past few days it's that you will never be better than your father
The freed magic users defeat King Fire Bull
Nezha in Batman's body returns to the Hall of Justice without the rest of Batman's team, but Damian doesn't become suspicious of him
Damian wakes up captured by Nezha
He manages to escape but Nezha chases him
Monkey Prince explains to Damian the longer Nezha stays in Batman's body the stronger he will get, so they have to get him out of Batman and into his old body fast to banish him, but Nezha is the only thing keeping Bruce's body from dying. If they want to save the world Damian has to kill his father
Damian calls the rest of the batfamily for help to capture Nezha/Batman
After the batfamily wears him down first Monkey Prince uses his cloning ability on Damian to make 20+ (?) clones of Damian that wear Nezha down even further
Zatanna, Enchantress and Pigsy arrive to shackle Nezha and transfer his soul back into his original body on Damian's orders, leaving Bruce dead
Damian then asks Enchantress to transfer his life to Bruce to revive him, arguing that the world needs Batman far more than it needs him. She replies that his sacrifice wouldn't be enough to bring Bruce back, shocking Damian. Zatanna says countless people would need to give parts of themselves to revive Bruce.
Damian asks the entirety of Gotham to give a part of themselves to revive Batman, reminding them of all the times Batman has saved them and to shout "we are Batman" to transfer a part of their lifeforce into Bruce
Bruce comes back to life and they hug
The concluding sentence tells us that this story serves as a lesson to the world that there is no more formidable team than Batman and Robin
Even though we never saw them truly working  together as Batman and Robin at any point of the story and the only lesson I took from this is that Mark Waid really wants you to know that Bruce is the greatest and that Damian will never be as good as his dad. How uplifting.
But hey, they hugged in the end, surely that makes up for all of it, right?😑
Who needs Damian to not be at fault for yet another disaster? For Bruce to say something nice about him that goes beyond "well, he's my son, so I guess I have some love for him even though I can only describe him with bad attributes"? To simply see Damian filling the role Robin is supposed to serve in a story?
Or why let Damian enjoy the privilege that all other male Robins enjoyed? Which was to be Robin without sharing the mantle and getting to be Batman's main crime fighting partner?
Why do that when you can just use Tim for these things instead, right?🙂
And I want to make it clear that it's not just because "the characters are just like that". The characters are fictional, they have no free will.
A writer could simply let Damian have a story where he's not at fault for the problems he faces, where his own abilities allow him to solve the problem and he doesn't have to make shitty decisions because he's been forced into dilemmas other character simply don't get subjected to.
They just constantly choose not to.
Here’s how I’m feeling about “Wynonna Earp: Vengeance”:
(Spoilers below)
I was really happy and excited to see the characters again and that’s what carried me through with joy like a guilty little pleasure.
However:
As much as I wanted it to be, it still wasn’t very good.
The plot was lame and nonsensical. There were so many villains that could have been brought back that would have been amazing but Mina was lame and I still don’t understand the reasoning behind Peacemaker not working on her. The lack of budget is forgivable but could have been a lot better dealt with in-story by just simplifying the baddies and plot.
Didn’t Mercedes become a vampire? Was she de-vamped when Doc was because he sired her? Either way my girl did NOT deserve to go down like that. I’m glad she at least went out brave and mouthy.
The continuity errors were frustrating (No mention of Rachel was a little weird but the Wynonna flashbacks made no sense - she didnt know things like how to summon demons or why they couldn’t get onto the homestead when she was a teen, we literally saw her learn about most of it in the first season).
You can get to hell through a hole in the ice?
I could see Doc’s demise coming from a mile away (as soon as a character starts making plans for settling down with their family you know they’re fucked). And it’s bullshit and I fully anticipate it will be reversed if they ever make another which I hope they will but I cannot see them doing it without Tim. I assume that’s why they made a point of Wynonna and Jeremy talking about “fixing this”.
NOT ENOUGH JEREMY. I was literally screaming at the TV “Where’s Jeremy?!?” the entire time.
Honestly, I really just wish they’d tried to make kind of a one-off extended episode with lower stakes and less melodrama. Wynonna Earp was at its best when it was more episodic and kinda silly. I’m not saying it wasn’t good at serious drama, but it was better when those moments were smaller and further in between.
The whole time I kept thinking, “Stop tossing Nicole around like that! Kat is clearly pregnant don’t make the poor woman roll around on the floor!”
How can Alice be the “Earp Heir Apparent” when the curse isn’t a thing anymore?Wynonna CHOSE to get Peacemaker back and keep fighting demons but her descendants are no longer cursed to follow in her footsteps.
Can we just let there be a happy ending? Please?
In my head I’m just gonna add a scene where Wynonna wakes up in the hotel room with Doc after having a terrible nightmare where he died and she became a cop. And then they bone.
